Shuddh Desi Romance’ trailer: Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor make a heady trio

Yash Raj Films’ latest offering is Shuddh Desi Romance -- an urban tale of love and attraction set not in a metropolis -- starring the dynamic Sushant Singh Rajput, vivacious Parineeti Chopra and a fresh face, Vaani Kapoor. The trailer has just arrived! Let’s see what makes this movie unique.

Since the teasers of the movie are already out for eyegrabs, the audiences know about the three characters played by Sushant, Parineeti and Vaani. Now the trailer elaborates the comic plot.

Sushant Singh Rajput as Raghu is the usual small-town boy attracted to the two beautiful girls. In his introductory scene in the trailer, he confesses, “Friendship nai karni hai tumse, na bhai banna hai… jo hai saaf bataa raha hun, attraction hai.”

Like him, Parineeti Chopra as desi beauty Gayatri doesn’t believe in love. For her love is khayali pulao. Sushant and Parineeti are comfortable in a live-in relationship, but is it just attraction or more than that? The trailer doesn’t answer that, instead is laced with romantic moments between the two. However, the picture is incomplete. Sushant has another ladylove, played by the newcomer Vaani Kapoor.

Vaani as Tara is a sensuous lady, and Raghu is attracted to her as well. The two meet, date and even kiss. Now what? That’s what Shuddh Desi Romance is all about! The confusion between love and attraction, and what comes after love forms the story of the film.

Directed by the Band Baaja Baaraat director Maneesh Sharma, Shuddh Desi Romance is said to be a candid look at the affairs of the heart in today’s desi heartland. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor as a love guide to Sushant, also features in the trailer.
